Shively Area Ministries (SAM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives and strengthening the fabric of the Shively community. We do this by providing emergency, short-term and, in some cases, ongoing assistance to individuals and families in poverty and crisis in the 40216 ZIP code. Because SAM is an inclusive organization serving in the Spirit of Christ, we do not discriminate based on age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, military status or religious affiliation. We love all our Shively neighbors and offer hope to any of them in need.

SAM provides a vehicle where all people of goodwill in the Shively area can come together to form a common bond of compassion. We respond to the needs of persons in poverty and crisis by uniting churches, civic groups and businesses to improve the quality of life for Shively residents. Our services are made possible through financial and in-kind donations, the time and talent of faithful volunteers and generous community support.
