Relatives Raising Kids

Supporting Kids and Caregivers - Our Relatives Raising Kids Program was launched to support caregivers in this community who are raising kids that are from extended family or non-family members.

How we provide support:

  • Educational Programs for children and caregivers, such as Budgeting, Parenting and Cooking Matters

  • Connecting caregivers to outside resources like legal aid representation, social workers and support groups

  • Ease emotional struggles by listening, encouraging, and referring to professional counseling as requested

  • Assistance in providing for needs that may fall outside of our traditional programming

To qualify for assistance through this program, caregivers should be prepared to show:

  • Proof of address in the Shively Area Ministries service area (40216 ZIP code)

  • A picture ID

  • Social Security Cards for all in household, including children

  • Other items as needed, determined by type of assistance
